as you may have guessed from the title I am having a half term holiday in Sardinia! So far me and my family have lazed around, lazed around, and oh lazed around. Although we have played a lot of badminton (the one sport I am actually good at!), been for a walk and swum in the swimming pool too! Unfortunaly holidays do require a bit of work. For exsample we had two and a half solid days of driving, an uncoftable night in the car and a overnight boat where the driver was blotto!
We started of in 20 queen st with a loud bleep! Bleep! BLEEP! At 6 o'clock wich “aparently” screwed up Dad's "sleep cycle". We packed the car and finaly after much hoo haa we were of! At this point it was 8.30 but I soon fell asleep. I find sleeping is a very good way of pasing the time. When I awoke we were in england, we stoped for a big english service station breakfast. After this we soon reached the euro tunnel. We got there an hour early so after making sure our car was "accepable" for the French guidelines and prepering the new (well new to us) kia sadona for it first trip out side of the uk we got put on an early train.
After 35 minuits we were in France! Witch if you think about it is prety cool. I think I fell asleep then, again. Anyway if I din'nt it was'nt very interesting. Later on we were all getting tiered but at about 11.30 after no sign of any hotels we pulled over to a service station and selpt in the car. That was not as bad as it sounds but I wouldent recommend it to everyone.
There was an up side to sleeping in the car, wich was that we were right next to the gas station. We soon set of having no reson to stay there any longer. We drove on and I fell asleep after watching school of rock. I woke up in switzerland (I love it when that happens) and we stopped for my first ice cream! We did'nt stop for long so I watched school of rock, again and we soon hit... the tunnles!
We drove through soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many tunnles including the mont Blonc tunnle! We then drove and I fell asleep (it turns out I did'nt stop sleeping when I was a baby either) and at 5.00 pm we arived at the ferry port. This was all good exsept the one tiny little problem. Our ferry did'nt avive till 11.30! we spent 6 and a half hours
wating in the crappy little port aka liborno. When finaly we were called in to the wating line dad and Rhys when in the toilet! So I then ran around trying to find them, when actually we then did'nt leave the line for about an hour so it did'nt mater that much anyway.
When we got on the boat I discovered that our captin was either a todler or totally pissed! We rocked this way and we rocked that way, all whille I was trying to sleep. I did'nt enjoy this very much at all. After being dosed up with sea legs I soon fell asleep and I woke up in the mornig ready to start our holiday.
We drove some more but we took it slow and kept stoping when it got to hot and on one of our stops we met a man who had practicaly traveled the world on his motor bike. He was pretty cool. At about 2 pm we arived at 4mori our camp site and we were all ready for lunch to discover... they dont do lunch so instead we unpacked our stuff and settled in to our super tent.(it really was super!)
it had three rooms a gas stove and outside tabble and a dividey bit in bettween mine and Jenna's bed! It was ausome. We were soon unpacked at the place was all ready a pit so we dicided to go for a walk to the beach. The beach was a 2 second walk through the camp site and down a bord walk. We walked down the long beach to the beach bar (wich we discovered did food, but by now we were not hungry). We spent a while at the beach and then dicided to go out to the campsite restaurant. Big mistake. The food was great, no problems there. Unffortunatly (for the waitor) mum and dad insisted that the service was so bad they had to see the manager and a good half an hour later they arived back at the tent informing us that they had to go to reception in the morning to make an oficial complatint! Oh to the lengths parents go!
The next day we totally relaxed and spent the whole day either at the beach or the pool. We soon discovered the family in the tent next door to us where english! The children where a bit younger than us but they were really cool. Heather and Mathew had to kids Dasiy (age 5 nearly 6) and Gabe (4 but such a leg(end, thats brakets inside of brackets) and a total admirer). We then went to the swimming pool with them almost everyday. One memorable day Gabe asked Rhys to jump in. Rhys being Rhys did a massive canon ball. Again, again, again! So Rhys jumped in again. Again, again, again. Rhys ended up (with much prompting from mum) diving in swimming a length and back then repeating this over and over again.
This is the end of the first half of my holiday to Sardinia so catch up with me later to find out what happens when we go to the capital, Cagliria.
I am going to put some pic's up soon but we are at a hotel in Parma Italy and the camera cord is at the bottom of dad's case!
