it was the 7th of August 2010 the day we had all been waiting for, well Llandovery YMCA and a couple of other Christians all over the countries had been waiting for and intact a few really hardcore committed Christians from America had been waiting for and a few really OTT hardcore committed Christians from New Zealand and other far of countries had been waiting for. It was the first day of the long awaited Creation Fest.
Now you may be wondering why I was going to a Christian festival (for those who don't know I am not a religious person) we I was going with my youth club along we the 32 others who had paid the 70 squids to see bands like Malokai, BOSH, theabandwithnoname, The Scott Cunningham Band and wait for it headlining the kids tent for 3 to 11 year olds: the bear hug band (bringing a goofy upbeat and fulfilled flavour to the kids tent once again. Coming out of Costa Mesa California, the whole crazy crew is back to dance, shout and groove in the freedom they have in Christ.)
so we all got up excited and happy (well as happy as you can be at seven hundred hours in the morning) and not really knowing what we had signed up for buckled our seat belts and waited while our group leader Jill stalled the bus a couple of times.
It was all good for about an hour. We were listening to n-dubs and we were dancing and listening to the “Cornwall mix tape” with everyone shouting: “we need more hardcore mayday mayday ravers in the UK!” but then the table were turned as someone cried the fatal sentence of... “are we there yet” hey and 8 hours later and a KFC or two we were.
So when we were finally there I, Jessica and holly being really cleaver brought a pop up tent. So once we had pegged up or in or whatever we were offered spag bol, witch at the time I wasn't very hungry for so instead I just had spaghetti and cheese. Witch was nice until it went cold and then it became a bit... weird.
After finished my cold spaghetti and cheese I decided to get my moneys worth and go down to the festival. So I said to my friends “who's gonna go down festival” and who answers, no one. We had paid 70 pounds for everyone to say no I'm not gonna bother tonight. Well I did bother and finally managed to round up a few people who cared were there cash went. So I would just like to say a quick shout out to Matt. D and Ross. C (you know who you are) because you came up to the festival with me on the first night and we did have a good time zorbing/walking on water*, didn't we?
*now for those who don't know what zorbing is shame on you. No don't worry zobing is where you basically hop in to a plastic ball and either run down a hill or as we did walk/fall around in what you could basically call a giant paddling pool.
So after zorbing we didn't do much else we saw a few bands and went to bed. So when we woke up it was Sunday and it was 7 in the morning. That day had nothing very interesting planed so we stayed at the festival. I decided I would like to go and “meet the band: Malokai” it turned out Malokai were quite good. They were a alternative/punk/rock/Christian band who thought that screamo was limiting there audience. I then stayed in the “ZONE” for the rest of the day. I also met the band [crave]: who turn out to be quite good to.
The next day we went to Padstow, or was that the day before maby I've got my days wrong. But it was awesome there I thoroughly recommend it. There was even a guy playing the saw. It was really nice there and I had rhubarb crumble ice cream! Then we were called for lunch and half of us now being able to eat with everyone else we had to get down to this little island. It looked like the only way down was a rickety ladder, but we found another way... through the quick sand. That was fun. We then went on a boat trip. I don't know what it is but being on boats makes me really sleepy. And then at the beach I cut my toe. That night was one of the best nights musically with dweeb, theabandwithnoname and Philliper Hanna! “all right everything gonna be all right”. Me, Phoebe, Susan, Chris, Matt, Dana and anyone I have forgotten had the best time dancing.
The next day we were split into two groups and we went down to Gweek and went surfing! Mathew was so the best surfer it was really funny. We had an awesome time we surfed for a while and then we played a few cool games. And one of the girls she got stung by a spiky fish. I then brought a packet of haribo kiddie mix.
I started to see less music now but I did start going to the films, we saw this really good one about this dude called Joey Burran who is like this surfer coincidently. I also saw this one about a kid with sickle cell and half of one about a cricketer called Hansi. They were all pretty good but they were all pretty late so I was shattered.
The next day we all went horse riding and i discovered I am actually quite scared of horses especially when they are stood still and you are on top of them. But once we had started walking it was ok and kinda fun. Ashley fell of his horse it was well good.
Jess and Holly left then and we went zorbing again together it was really nice. After that I spent another day at the festival with Phoebe witch was also nice. Then we had the bus journey home. 8 hours of journey. but when we got back it had been a good week.

Cool blog - look forward to updates (is this part of Mum's homework regime?) Rhubarb crumble ice cream - wow - sounds fantastic. I went 'Zorbing' on water at Heatherton. Not much walking done TBH - and my dome steamed up so I couldn't see out (on the plus side nobody could see in either!)
ReplyDeleteLoved the blog, you still sound excited about the Fest, looking forward to reading all about Ireland and your travels in the bus!
